Our bodies are not familiar with these “something else” things that man has created therefore, we don’t digest them.

In order to survive we must have healthy fat so fat free is not really the problem. The problem lies more in the types of fat you are eating. Trans and saturated fats are the ones to be free of but the replacements for fats are usually synthetic which is not natural for us to digest.
You’ll also want to play close attention to your sugar intake. If you eat sugar products often, the brain demands more of it. When something so fantastic happens to the brain it sends messages to your body to do it again. Sugar is that fantastic and your brain can’t wait for more. It does eventually turn into an addiction just like drugs catch hold of a repeated user. Sugar is hidden in most of the processed foods that are available to us. It is somewhat deceptive because they don’t come right out and say it contains sugar. They slap an unfamiliar name on it and try to put it past us.
Also, it’s unfortunate that food companies have white flour as a base to so many of the foods we eat because white flour tells the brain the same message as sugar does and it again will send craving nudges for more. Try to find those products that are based on whole grains. If you just must have sugar then reach for the dark chocolate, this will put at least a bit of nutrition in your body instead of wasted calories. All our brain really wants is valuable nutrients and when it gets that, it sends out the “I am full” signal a lot sooner so your appetite gets curbed sooner. Your metabolism will peak when you stop eating sugar which will help burn fat much quicker.
