Strip That Fat Or Split That Fat... Just Get Rid Of It

You’ve just got to love a diet program that calls itself, “Strip That Fat, ” (also referred to as Split That Fat) if only for the comical image the name brings to mind. Stripping fat doesn’t sound like the most pleasant of chores but, when you think about it, isn’t that what most every dieter is looking for? Don’t you hope with every fad diet you try that one will finally do the trick and strip away all that extra fat accumulating in all the wrong spots all over your body? Your body and somewhere between 60-70% of every other human body on the planet!
Many have tried diet after diet looking for the magic bullet, but guess what? The truth is, most diets DO NOT WORK. Most are like a yo-yo, taking you down in weight at the beginning and then bringing you right back up again in a relatively short time. Some diets actually leave you weighing more than you did before you began!
There are lots of weight loss myths out there and many dieting hopefuls are still falling for these inaccurate and sometimes even dangerous methods. For example, low-carb (Atkins-style) diets have been around for a while. This type of regimen is not good for you. Your body needs a certain amount of carbohydrates to properly function. These types of diets will make your life miserable, giving you headaches, causing sleeplessness and making you irritable. They’re also not sustainable.
Low-fat diets aren’t good either and will usually leave you with more weight than you had to begin with. Foods sold in most grocery stores as being ‘low-fat’ or ‘diet’ are frequently unhealthy, calorie-laden products made to look different than they actually are. A glance at the FDA label can give you some insight into their real value, but most people buy a product based on what is stated on the FRONT of the package (which is what the manufacturers are counting on).
Starvation diets are likewise neither healthy nor wise to undertake. Your body needs food, just like your car needs gas and oil. You can lose some weight by starving yourself but it will be temporary water weight loss. Your body will shut down and hold onto every bit of fat it can find once you cut off its food rations. The return of the yo-yo to the top will be fierce with this one and you’ll surely end up weighing more than before in a short period of time.
Whether you gain or lose weight is determined by the foods you eat. If you’re typically eating 3 meals per day, you want to stretch that out to at least 5 times a day. Eating more frequently will cause you to burn more calories and it will speed up your metabolism. These are the things that make you shed pounds.
