A Workout Routine Is Always Better With Stretching

Do you have sore, tight muscles? Have you noticed having trouble bending over to tie your shoes or reaching up to get that book off the shelf? Well it sounds like you may be neglecting all those muscles that help get you through your everyday routine. Whether you exercise regularly or not, you need to incorporate stretching into your everyday routine as a little thank you to your muscles.
What stretching accomplishes is not just relaxing of the muscles but it also gets rid of the normal daily stress that builds up in your body and muscle tissue. In addition it helps out with needed flexibility and circulation. If improving the quality of your every day life is important to you, than stretching needs to be incorporated into your day to day activities. You will also notice that stretching helps with range of motion, which is good for athletes and improves overall energy levels as well. If your looking for a way to appear longer and leaner, then stretching will help you with that also.
So far many benefits of stretching have been mentioned, still it’s wise to make sure and evaluate how you perform your stretches and the methods you use to prepare for stretching. It’s always a good idea to do some simple warm ups for about 5 minutes even before you stretch, or after a hard workout try stretching afterwords since your muscles are warm and loose. A few quick tips to remember are to always try to hold your stretches for 30 seconds to one minute and to try your hardest not to hold your breath but keep a steady breathing rate or you will find yourself more tense than flexible. And like all other workouts or exercises try to have fun and enjoy it.
Remember you want to do at least one stretch for each muscle group, so your whole body can benefit. Aim to stretch at least 3 times a week. If you don’t have time for a full body stretch, take a few minutes throughout your day to stretch your muscles that feel the tightest. You can even stretch while sitting at your desk or on the couch, every little bit helps. Try to add stretching into your everyday routine and pretty soon your muscles will be thanking you.
If the old saying “you’re only as young as you are flexible” is true, then it’s probably a good idea to stretch every day and attempt to get as limber as you possibly can. Doing so will not only make you feel better, but will help you achieve your goals with whatever workout routines you are trying to benefit from.
